-   We had a Fun Month in June and we Thank all of you who stopped in to see us and all those who came out to our 60's Music Tribute with music by "The Happy Hippies"! A groovy time was had by all, with lots of White Sangria and Pordeblanco Margaritas being enjoyed.  
 
-   Our "First Fridays" Summer Wine & Music Series continues on Friday, July 6th (weather permitting). Come on out and enjoy Live music on the Wine Deck by "Will Play for Wine" from 5pm to 8pm.
 
-   Calling all Central PA Beatles Fans: Our Tribute to The Beatles is on Saturday, July 21st at the winery from 1pm to 4pm, featuring “The Day Trippers”. Free Admission. Free Parking. Bring your lawn chairs and Enjoy an afternoon of Beatles Music at Hummingbird Ridge!
 
-  Big News for all of you Ruby Elixir fans!!!  Ruby is Back! Come and Get it. Ruby Elixir, our best-selling sweet red wine is back on the shelves. And Blue Diamond, our unique Blush Port wine is better than ever and now available for all of you Port fans! Come in and taste the latest vintage of these 2 wines.
 
-  Visit www.pa-wine-chili-blues.com for info on The Newberrytown Wine, Chili, and Blues Festival to be held at Newberrytown Peddlers Market on September 15th from 11am to 4pm. This Festival will feature wine tastings from PA wineries, a chili cookoff judged by festival attendees, and some great Blues music, featuring the Queen of Blues Harmonica, Octavia and her band. If you know of any food, jewelry, arts, crafts or other vendors that would like to sell their products at the Festival, have them contact Kathy at 717-932-4264. If you know any Restaurants or Individuals who would like to show off their chili recipe to be judged by festival attendees, please have them call Brenda at 717-818-7473 for info.  Space is Limited, Reserve your space early.  
 
- Recipe of the Month: This month's recipe was submitted to us by Stacy Force, a fan of our Semi-Dry Riesling. This is a great summer grilling recipe.

Ingredients:

For the rub

For the shrimp

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (give or take)
  • 2 lbs medium shrimp, peeled and deveined (U-25s ( I buy them peeled and deveined)

Directions:

  1.  
In a 1 gal plastic food bag place shrimp and olive oil, toss to coat, sprinkle enough rub to lightly coat the shrimp.

The bag should look dark red.
  1.  
Refrigerate for 1-4 hrs, the longer you wait the hotter they'll be.

Light the grill and while it's heating place shrimp on skewers.
  1.  
When coals are very hot, clean the area that the shrimp will be on and rub with a bit of canola oil on a rag (use a mitt please).

Immediately place shrimp on greased grill for 2-3 minutes, turn and cook an additional 2-3 minutes.

Remove from skewers and serve hot.

No dipping sauce required. Serve with Hummingbird Ridge Semi-dry Riesling.

Our motto is “Experience The Flavor” and our goal is for every Hummingbird Ridge wine to be balanced and flavorful. We are open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 6pm and our standard wine tastings are free of charge.

- Our Wine Deck is now open for the Season! Take a Break and Stop out and sip a glass of wine or bring a picnic lunch and enjoy it on our deck. On a sunny day, a glass of Hummingbird Ridge wine sure tastes good while relaxing on the Deck!!!
 
- July Wine Lineup: We are a microwinery and we make our wines in small batches so that we can focus on every detail of the winemaking process to craft the best wines for you. So at times we will sell out of certain wines. The following wines are currently available for tasting and purchase in our Tasting Room: 
  
Red Reserve, It’s back and Better than ever, the new Red Reserve is Cabernet Franc and is available now at the tasting room.
Hummingbird Red, Our classic dry red wine that is the perfect dinner wine!
Semi-Dry Riesling, our crisp semi-dry white with bright citrus tones
Hummingbird White, our soft and elegant semi-dry white
Wildflower White, semi-sweet with layer after layer of tropical flavors 
Sweet Dreams, sweet but smooth and flavorful
Ruby Elixir, our semi-sweet best-selling red is Back in Stock.
Pordevino, our port-style red wine with layers of blueberry and cherry flavor.
Pordeblanco, our port-style white wine, a unique flavor sensation with delicate citrus flavors.
Blue Diamond, Just Released, our unique Blush Port 
Adams Apple, our Award-Winning Apple Wine made from a blend of 5 types of York County grown apples!

July

6th, First Friday at the winery with extended hours until 8pm and Live music on the Wine Deck from 5-8pm with "Will Work for Wine" playing acoustic classic rock and blues.

21, Beatles music tribute at the winery with Beatles music by "The Day Trippers", Free admission, Bring lawn chairs. 1pm to 4pm.
 
August 18, Arts & Crafts Fest at the winery, Noon to 4pm. Any arts, crafts, or other vendors who wish to attend, call 717-818-7473 for details.
